Bridget Tells All on Bobby! Part 2

by Ann Moses on May 21, 2025

Bridget Hanley probably knows Bobby Sherman better than any other girl in his life. She’s worked with him for a whole year and off the set they’re good friends. Here is her exclusive story:

HAVE THERE EVER BEEN ANY REALLY FUNNY INCIDENTS THAT HAVE HAPPENED TO YOU ON THE SET OF “BRIDES?”

It’s just terrible! Every time we have scenes where we have to run to each other or turn around quickly and each other or grab each other or hug each other, I always miss. If were supposed to run together and hug. I’ll run right by Bobby, and I don’t mean to! Once, I fell right through the wagon! I was in the wagon, one of those big wooden ones that are drawn by horses, and instead of getting out like a lady, I always jump out. Well, this one time I started to jump out and I threw my body forward, but my leg went right down through the floorboard. Luckily, the hole was big enough so that my leg came right out. But I always have skinned knees and ripped dresses. The wardrobe lady has to have doubles on almost everything I wear because I fall down all the time and rip things!

CAN YOU THINK OF ANY OTHER TIMES THAT WERE FUNNY ON THE SET?

We started laughing on some of the kissing scenes. We all get that way sometimes—we’ll be doing a romantic scene and there are always so many people around them we’ll just start giggling and when Susan Tolsky gets going I can’t stop laughing.

You know, Bobby’s very dear with her. They go to lunch and talk. She has a boyfriend, but sometimes you can’t talk to your boyfriend like you can talk to a good friend. And Bobby’s like that with her.

Another thing Bobby and I will do is during rehearsal we’ll do a scene totally the wrong way, just to crack everybody up and make them think that that’s the way we’re going to do it. Bobby and I get hysterical sometimes but when it comes to do the scene, we have to pay attention to that. I can remember doing one scene and it was very serious, and my line was, “Well, Jeremy, you just better go out there and get them!” And he said, “Well, okay, come on.” Then we were supposed to walk out the door. So I turned around and there was one of those old potbellied stoves and I knocked the stove over and the side of the wall out and then Bobby and I went right on with the scene and we had to turn our backs on the cameras because we were just shaking we were laughing so hard. But there’s always something like that, Bobby sometimes will run, and he’ll slip on the stairs.

HAVE YOU EVER DONE ANYTHING OFF THE SET TOGETHER, LIKE DOUBLE DATING OR GOING OUT SOCIALLY TOGETHER?

No. And I think that’s maybe one of the reasons for our success as friends. Bobby’s a very private person and so am I and he has his group of friends, and I have mine. I mean, we’ve been at many social functions together and we don’t hang on each other, we kind of go our own ways. But I know he would always be there if I needed him.

WHAT DO YOU THINK IS BOBBY’S BEST TRAIT?

Oh, dear! He has so many. Honesty, his talent and the talent goes in the musical area, the acting area, the business area, the technical areas as far as films are concerned. I would say his best trait is his totality. I think that word kind of sums it all up without leaving out anything. I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone, a friend, that has as many things going for him is Bobby.

YOU WERE IN SEATTLE WITH BOBBY FOR APPEARANCES THERE, HOW IS HE WITH HIS FANS?

Bobby is absolutely incredible. When we were in Seattle, I had never seen him perform live, he is so full of electricity! My mother and dad and my younger sister came in to see the last show and they were flipped out about him. They were! My mother was a musician long time ago and she said he is not only a very talented, good musician, he’s a fantastic performer. He is, and it just comes out like he’s wide open and he’s all there and he loves it. With the fans, he’s fantastic. He gives them what they need and what they want. He sees as many and talks to his many and signs as many autographs as he can. He’s really great.

WHAT YOU THINK BOBBY WILL DO IN THE FUTURE?

I’ve wondered, because Bobby, even when he gets older is going to look very young. He’s going to look like a young leading man for a long time. I wonder and I wonder if he wonders. I think that his singing career could go for a long time. I know now that he’s pushing that and his acting career will go on for a long time. I think that every actor wonders that at some time “How long am I going to last?” It’s hard for me to say what will happen to Bobby. I don’t know what’s going to happen to me, or David or Robert. I just hope for very long, golden, fantastic, beautiful career for them and for Bobby. And I think he has the talent and the willpower to do whatever he sets his mind to.
