Sitting quietly on the orange couch in the waiting room of the Tiger Beat office, Marie Osmond looks as cute as a contented kitten curled up by a warm fireplace hearth!
Her hands are folded on her lap and every once in a while she smooths out the skirt of her red jumper. The sounds of a camera clicking busily away attracts your attention, and Marie looks up to watch her brother, Donny, getting his picture taken in the always hectic Tiger Beat art room!
Soon, Kenny Lieu and Donny call her name and she quickly gets up to have her picture taken with Donny! She blushes slightly and confesses that she is bashful when it comes to getting her picture taken! Although her cheeks are noticeably pinker, Marie smiles and poses for Kenny as if she was a born model!
While the camera records her visit to the Tiger Beat office, Marie answers the questions that all Osmond fans have been asking about her. All of her best answers are spoken in a quiet, bashful, and yet cheerful voice!
PROUD OF BROTHERS
Marie would rather talk about her brothers than of herself. The first word she spoke “I’m so glad that my brothers song has made number one! Did you know that they got a gold record for ‘One Bad Apple?'”
Usually pink cheeks and bright eyes get brighter with each word as she describes how really proud she is of all her brothers… Of her entire family, in fact! She’s got that unmistakable Osmond smiled makes her face glow!
Marie, like her brothers, house brown hair and sparkling brown eyes. All of them, except for Jimmy, were born in their beloved Ogden, Utah. The same helpful, pleasant disposition that the Osmond Brothers have this definitely one of Marie’s fine qualities also. But being the only girl in a family voice, Marie does have interests that her brothers don’t have!
MOTHER’S HELPER
11 year old Olive Marie Osmond (she was named after her mother), is the greatest little helper any mother could ask for! She loves to sew, knit, and cook. She admits that she still needs some experience in the cooking department, but proudly describes the meals she’s prepared as “pretty good!”
She knows how to cook breakfast foods the best so far. Her brothers like her to fix huge plates of scrambled eggs for them at breakfast time! And she recently learned how to fix the light pancakes her mother makes so well!
A few weeks ago, she fixed dinner for her family all by yourself… Almost! Her mom stood by in case an emergency should arise. She is especially proud of how well the veal cutlets and the dessert (chocolate cake-an Osmond favorite) turned out! Another of Marie’s specialties is hamburgers with everything on them. And she is trying to make her “Marie’s Salad” (made with raspberry Jell-O, raspberries, and topped with sour cream) tastes and looks as good as her mom’s!
Marie thinks one of the best parts of traveling is that she gets to share all of the different places in countries with her family! She really loves seeing the world. And she is especially excited about the trips to Japan that the family enjoys!
On the next tour to Japan, Marie will be singing two songs on the show! One is a Japanese song that Wayne taught her and the other is “Raindrops” which she and Donny have sung together many times! Marie’s interest in the performing side of show business has been slower in blossoming than her brothers.
She is just now beginning to want to perform in front of an audience. She wants to sing and dance and to make the audience happy as her brothers have done! And since talent seems to run so freely in the Osmond family, Marie’s Osmond is certain to bring added joy to the world of Osmond fans!
